January 2022

During my involvement in the Stowmarket level crossing closure project with WSP, I played a leading role in conducting a feasibility study commissioned by Network Rail.

Peckham Rye gyratory improvements, Southwark Council

July 2022

As part of Southwark Council’s efforts to enhance walking, cycling, and active travel in the community I implemented a series of targeted changes along Peckham Rye East, aligning with the council’s vision.

Neom Octagon Road, Saudi

April 2022

As part of the designing of Future city of NEOM, my focus was on the development and evaluation of the Octogen Ring Road, a pivotal transportation infrastructure initiative within this expansive urban development.

North Riyadh Transport Plan (North Pole), Saudi

August 2023

The North Pole Project is an extensive urban development initiative in northern Riyadh, spanning 306 square kilometers and accommodating 6 million residents. Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, it prioritizes sustainability and modern living, incorporating concepts like vertical living and solar energy utilization.

Therme recreation centre, Manchester, Trafford Council

June 2020

Therme Manchester is a 28-acre, large-scale wellbeing resort worth £250m.
Writing transport strategy, including generating trip generation values, conducting traffic surveys in the vicinity, creating traffic models for roundabouts and junctions using industry-standard software, and incorporating these results into the project’s transport assessment, in collaboration with the team.

1-7 Harley street healthcare facility, London, Westminster City Council

May 2020

As part of the healthcare facility’s expansion project, my role cantered on evaluating the transport implications of the extended facility on the surrounding area. This involved conducting manual traffic counts, creating traffic models based on existing data and new traffic counts, and implementing parking space enhancements to ensure a seamless transition during and after the expansion.

Transport Locality Assessment, Greater Manchester

August 2020

I contributed to the development of Transport Locality Assessments in several locations in Bury (Elton, Astley Boothstown, Mosley Common, and East Boothstown). These assessments are a crucial aspect of ensuring sustainable transportation planning for Greater Manchester. They involve forecasting traffic impacts, evaluating network effects, and proposing strategic mitigation measures to align proposed developments with the region’s broader transport goals.

This was included calculation of trip rates based on TRICS values (Trip Rate Information Computer System), proposal of new metrolinks stops, modification and improvements for the highway network based on capacity reviews, proposal of new mitigations to the local network such as new links roads and cycling and walking routes, traffic light timing and phasing modifications, proposal of new bus routes.

Low Traffic neighbourhood, boroughs of Enfield and Holborn, London

March 2021

As part of TfL’s Liveable Neighbourhoods Programme to promote sustainability including promoting active travel and reducing rat-running in different boroughs across London, my role focused on reducing vehicle traffic on several streets by narrowing the carriageway, connecting Market Square and the shopping centre through traffic reduction measures. This included enhancing cycleways and footways, improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists at junctions, and introducing segregated cycle tracks on Cecil Road, connecting to existing routes from Enfield’s mini-Holland program. Additionally, we revitalized Little Park Gardens and Town Park by creating a new public space with restricted motor vehicle access and implemented a new 20mph speed limit to enhance road safety. This also involved engaging with the public through consultation and summarizing the most frequently mentioned queries.

M5 / A419 Interchange microsimulation - West of Haresfield, Gloucestershire

January 2022

As part of a Site Promotion for B8 Use Class Development project in Haresfield, Gloucestershire, I took on the task of building a microsimulation model using Vissim. This hands-on approach enabled me to thoroughly analyze, calibrate, and validate the model to accurately predict future traffic patterns followed by new developments in Stonehouse. Due to it’s vicinity to junction 12 the M5 Motorway, it was necessary to examine increased traffic volumes at the M5 / A419 Interchange.

After successfully implementing the model, I prepared a detailed technical report. In this report, I presented the model’s findings and offered practical recommendations for potential improvements.

Stowmarket closing level crossings Feasibility study, Suffolk

January 2022

During my involvement in the Stowmarket level crossing closure project with WSP, I played a leading role in conducting a feasibility study commissioned by Network Rail. Our primary goal was to explore practical options for closing these crossings in line with Network Rail’s commitment to improving safety, efficiency, and connectivity along the ECML corridor.

I employed the SATURN model developed by Suffolk to rigorously assess and test various scenarios related to the potential impact of closing the level crossings. This modelling framework allowed us to thoroughly analyse traffic flow, environmental implications, and the overall feasibility of the proposed closures.

In close collaboration with key stakeholders such as Cambridgeshire County Council, Peterborough City Council, and Central Bedfordshire Council, our team organized a series of public consultations. These consultations provided an invaluable platform for local residents to actively contribute their insights, helping us shape potential solutions and gain a deeper understanding of their travel needs and behaviours.

Peckham rye gyratory improvements, Southwark Council

July 2022

As part of Southwark Council’s efforts to enhance walking, cycling, and active travel in the community I implemented a series of targeted changes along Peckham Rye East, aligning with the council’s vision. These changes included the installation of segregated cycle lanes in both northbound and southbound directions, providing safer routes for cyclists. Additionally, I introduced an informal crossing point to facilitate pedestrian movement, making it easier for people to navigate this area safely. Notably, this segment of Peckham Rye is a critical part of Cycleway 35, TfL’s strategic cycling route from Bermondsey to Catford. My efforts aimed to bridge a gap along this route, fostering connectivity between Peckham High Street and Nunhead Lane by Incorporating hands-on design expertise using AutoCAD.

Neom Octagon Road, Saudi

April 2022

As part of the designing of Future city of NEOM, my focus was on the development and evaluation of the Octogen Ring Road, a pivotal transportation infrastructure initiative within this expansive urban development. My role encompassed a range of technical tasks, including the meticulous assessment of various junction types, such as signal junctions, signalised roundabouts, and traditional roundabouts. These assessments involved rigorous traffic flow analysis, capacity calculations, and level of service evaluations.

The NEOM project, notable for its monumental scale and global significance, provided a unique platform to apply my expertise in transport modelling. The Octogen Ring Road’s successful integration within the NEOM framework required comprehensive traffic modelling, scenario testing, and optimization to meet the project’s objectives while ensuring sustainability and efficiency.

North Riyadh Transport Plan (North Pole), Saudi

August 2023

The North Pole Project is an extensive urban development initiative in northern Riyadh, spanning 306 square kilometers and accommodating 6 million residents. Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, it prioritizes sustainability and modern living, incorporating concepts like vertical living, solar energy utilization, and advanced transport methods.

My role on this project included preparing the foundations for a strategic model for future demand forecasting. This included preparing the OD zones, calculating the population in each zone. Preparing a GIS outputs of the extension, and preparing the different zones, nodes and links for the future model.
